There’s something I’ve been doing.
I finally noticed it.
And it’s changed the way I think about angel investing.
It saves me a ton of cycles.
And a lot of a founder’s cycles, too.
Since I use Superhuman for email:
I can set a reminder on any email I send.
No response within ‘X’ days and …. BOOM … it comes back to my Inbox.
Makes it really easy to stay on a founder’s radar.
But when I think twice about setting that reminder…
… it’s a clear signal that I’m probably not excited enough to get to “Yes”.
And that I should let this one go.
Will I miss some great opportunities because of this?
Absolutely.
And I’m OK with that.
What happens when I DO set that reminder?
I’m not asking the founder:
Instead:
I reach back out to see where I can help out.
Here are some recent examples…
- Sent a founder a job posting from a related company because it had some interesting datapoints
- Gave some feedback about some content marketing projects a founder was noodling on
- Asked a founder to send their launch plan so I could review it
I hope 👆get you thinking about how you can help founders you’re excited about!
And yes, I hope this helps you earn the opportunity to invest in those founders, too.
