Last week I had the honor of being on a panel for the premier VC conference at the V5 Summit. Stephanie Simon & John Gannon thank you for organizing an amazing event!
What our subscribers say...
As I look to hire employee #1 at @TwentySevenVC, @johnmgannon’s salary survey has come in handy to understand market benchmarks.
Through the immense knowledge shared within your newsletter and blog, I was able to break into the Venture Capital industry, which I’ve now worked in for 4 years.
Breaking in was an incredibly emotional moment – triggered by the realization that I had found my calling – and one that I would not have experienced were it not for your guidance.
I hope you continue to do the fantastic work that you do.
I started reading John’s VC blog at a time when I was unsure what my next career step should be — I was contemplating leaving the VC space altogether and moving into something new. Although I did end up at a hedge fund and was less focused on the typical early-stage deals, I still found John’s content very insightful for keeping up with the space. It helped me keep a finger on the pulse of the VC world; everything from jobs to the latest investment trends.
What’s great about John’s blog is it’s not only a useful resource for those who want to break into VC, but also for those outside of the VC space, who want to keep up with early-stage investing.
Venture5 provides great insight into various aspects of VC recruiting, market updates, and an honest pulse of the industry.
Before the VC Job Launchpad course, I was struggling with scattered efforts—Reddit, books, cold emails—none yielding results.
The course brought clarity and actionable direction. Two standout benefits: target selection (which firms to approach) and outreach strategy (how to approach them).
The biggest value add the course has had is the live office hours with John, where I was able to ask him questions and learn from the questions others asked too.
All in all, the VC Job Launchpad has been the most significant investment in my VC job search journey.
My only regret is that I did not make it sooner.
Building a strong team and culture is a top priority for us at Catalyst and we have enjoyed working with John and his team over the years to tap into their unparalleled network of VC and growth equity candidates.
Their process is easy to navigate and saves us time, and we can always trust that we are in good hands.
We look forward to working with John’s team as we continue to grow our team in the future.
Big fan of your blog. Have used it myself and constantly referring others.
Have been a subscriber for ~3 years and love your newsletter. As an M&A advisor recently turned startup founder I am discovering a new appreciation for your content.
Within the VC community, Venture5 is widely regarded as the go-to source for venture news and position moves in the industry.
The work Venture5 does across content, events, and other areas has been incredibly beneficial in providing emerging managers like myself with essential resources, networking opportunities, and practical knowledge to navigate the complexities of our roles.
One of the most valuable resources for me over the last few years has been John Gannon’s VC newsletter. It is the de-facto source for VC salaries, jobs, frameworks and more. I’m hiring a new Partner and Principal and so thankful for John’s VC Newsletter.
John is the industry’s standard bearer for connecting high quality venture candidates with exciting venture opportunities.
We’ve really appreciated working with him and his team!
Incredible dinner. My fav tech week event. Thank you for hosting and having me! 🙏🏼
There’s tons of materials out there about how to recruit for VC — podcasts, chatting with folks, blogs, etc. While venture might seem like a small asset class, there’s also alot of nuances that are hard to know being an outsider. What this course brings is clarity and focus as to what really matters. I’d recommend this for anyone who is recruiting for a venture role.
Thought you did a great job of having really relevant, detailed, actionable content – definitely unique. There’s going to be some things we’ll be trying out based on what I learned this summer.
When I’m trying to reach the key players in the VC industry, John Gannon of Venture5 Media is my go-to call.
Case in point: we had 100+ participants join our recent webinar on new SEC rules for VC investors. Many joined through a targeted Venture5 Media promotion of the event.
For anyone looking to grow their VC audience, you’d be hard-pressed to find a more effective distribution channel.
Legible.vc partnered with Venture5 Media on a two-part virtual event series. The series was an excellent opportunity to tap into our ideal audience, venture capital investors.
We had more than 60 VC investors attend, with great audience participation and positive feedback from participants.
Being part of the Venture5 Media community enhanced our visibility and brand development in the venture capital landscape.
So grateful to have been part of the V5 Summit, the premier conference for data-driven venture capital, where I joined a panel on scaling AI solutions for investment firms. It was an incredible opportunity to connect with Ensemble’s industry peers and compare notes across the diverse perspectives that great investors are bringing to next chapter of venture capital. Thank you to the V5 Summit organizers and fellow panelists for an enriching experience.
