A VC office party taught me this lesson about winning 👇
At the party, I met a founder who’d just taken money from the newest partner at the firm.
Always being curious about the how and the why of a deal, I asked them:
👉 “What were the things that made them stand out?”
I was expecting to hear the usual stuff:
- helped find strategic angel investors
- introduced them to customers
- helped them hire
But no. It was just this 👇
“She actually came down to our office and showed us she was serious.”
You might not be a whiz at financial models.
Or have a network like Reid Hoffman.
Or have founded a unicorn.
But you sure as heck can just show up.
Just like that partner did.
