Alpha Partners New York City, NY

Alpha Partners

Alpha Partners is a growth equity firm managing over $600 million that partners with early-stage investors instead of competing with them. We help venture firms keep investing in their winning portfolio companies, and we share a portion of our upside with the partners who refer those deals. Drawing on a network of more than 1,000 venture capital firms, Alpha sees over three fourths of all growth rounds and aims to select the best of them.

About the role

Alpha has an established co-investment business and has placed over $150 million of co-investment to date. As our deal flow, capacity, and investor base have expanded, we are institutionalizing the platform and looking to add someone to help manage the business.

The core of the job is sharing co-investment with our investors, brokers, and their clients, and explaining the investment thesis for each deal.

We are not a broker-dealer, so this role is about investor origination, structuring, and investor relationships, not trade execution on a regulated desk.

How much of the business you own on day one depends on your experience. A more experienced hire may run the platform largely independently. A less experienced hire will grow into that under close guidance from the partners. Title will be set accordingly.

This role is based in Midtown, New York City and works from our office three days a week.

What you’ll do

  • Place co-investment. Own distribution of co-investment to Alpha’s investors, brokers and their clients, RIAs, and family offices. Build the target list, run outreach, manage the pipeline, and drive each raise to close.
  • Carry the investment case. Learn each company well enough to lead initial investor calls and, over time, carry conversations further on your own. How far you take a conversation independently will depend on seniority; more experienced hires will run most investor discussions end to end. The investment team will support you as appropriate, and you will have our memos, models, and direct access to the deal leads.
  • Grow the broker and advisor network. If you bring an established network of investors we want to expand it alongside Alpha’s existing relationships. If you are earlier in your career, you will build that network first, then grow it.
  • Structure co-investment. Work with legal, fund administration, and compliance on formation, subscription documents, and closing mechanics.
  • Bring market intelligence back. Track where demand sits, which names investors ask about, and how quickly deals fill. Report pipeline and progress to the partners.

What we’re looking for

Required

  • Ability to learn a company quickly and speak credibly about why it is compelling. This matters more than any single line on your resume.
  • Strong judgment and discretion. Co-investment work involves sensitive investor relationships and confidential company information.
  • Comfort owning a relationship-driven process, where trust drives origination as much as execution.
  • A self-starter who wants to build a new business line, with ownership that grows with demonstrated ability.
  • Undergraduate degree.

Nice to have

  • Experience in co-investment formation or syndication, or private markets capital raising
  • A track record of placing capital into private deals
  • Existing relationships with private markets brokers, RIAs, family offices, institutions, or wealth platforms
  • Experience working with legal, fund administration, and compliance to close deals
  • Experience investing in or covering growth-stage technology companies

Backgrounds that fit

We expect strong candidates from a range of seats, including:

  • Private markets or alternatives teams at a wirehouse or bank
  • Private market and pre-IPO platforms
  • Co-investment platforms
  • Investor relations or capital formation at a venture or growth fund
  • Investment banking, growth equity, or research analysts who want a commercial, relationship-driven seat. Candidates with this background may also work with the investment team on diligence for the deals they bring to investors.

Compensation

Base salary of $90,000 to $200,000, set by experience and level. The role is eligible for an annual bonus and carried interest.
