Nexus Bay Capital
Nexus Bay Capital is hiring a Part-Time AI Engineering Intern
Nexus Bay Capital invests in leading early-stage venture funds and startups. We hold positions in some of the best emerging managers and fastest-growing companies. We want to keep earning a place alongside them by being a partner they actually want on their cap table. Our goal is simple: be the best early-stage hybrid fund-of-funds investor.
In our business, a data-forward approach is table stakes. Every conversation is a signal, and most firms let those signals go to waste. We want to capture them, connect them and build on them. Done well, that data helps us find managers earlier, underwrite them better, support our portfolio more effectively and learn from every decision we make.
We’re a lean team, and we want to operate as an AI-native firm. We’re looking for a builder to design our agent-first software stack from the ground up. This role is not focused on sourcing or deals. You’ll work directly with our team to turn how we invest and operate into an operating system that grows with us.
About the role:
- Map our workflows (fund diligence, startup pipeline, portfolio monitoring, LP reporting, operations) and find where agents and automation create the most leverage.
- Decide what to build and what to buy: evaluate existing tools, recommend what to adopt, and build where off-the-shelf tools fall short.
- Connect our systems (email, CRM, data rooms, docs, spreadsheets) through APIs, MCP, and integration platforms so they work as one stack.
- Success looks like building a central nervous system and brain for the company. Information is centralized and accessible.
Who we’re looking for:
- We are less interested in your formal education and want to see a track record of shipping automations and AI tools. Personal projects count more than professional ones.
- Entrepreneurial. You’ve started something whether a side project, a tool people actually use, a small business, or an open-source repo.
- Comfortable with ambiguity. Give you a problem, not a spec, and you’ll figure out the rest.
- Hands-on experience with LLM APIs and agent tooling and comfortable in Python or TypeScript.
- Experience with no-code and low-code tools, and the judgment to know when those beat custom code.
- Intellectually honest and know what is possible, what works, and what is simplest. You are not afraid to say that something isn’t possible.
