Analyst / Associate at (Confidential) Seed Stage Fund in Atlanta
Atlanta [in office) · Full-time · Compensation: competitive · Start: immediate to Jan 1
About Us
We are an established seed-stage fund backing talented founders building tech companies in a variety of sectors. We are highly selective in the companies we invest in and are deeply engaged with the founders we back as their most valuable partners.
The Role
We’re hiring our first Analyst / Associate to work directly with partners across deal sourcing, diligence, and portfolio support, in addition to having a seat at the table for key decisions we make as a firm. Your title will be based initially on your experience with room to grow your responsibilities and role over time. This is a real investing seat, not a scouting gig. Because we’re nimble, you’ll also help shape how the firm itself operates.
What you’ll do
- Source great companies by finding founders early. You’ll work events, communities, and your own relationships. We don’t rely on deals coming to us.
- Be the first read on inbound. Screen decks, take first calls, and give us a clear point of view.
- Run diligence. Size markets, map competitors, call customers, and check the financials and cap table.
- Write investment memos that take a position. Keep them short and back them with evidence.
- Support the portfolio. Make intros, prep founders for their next raise, and dig into hands-on projects.
- Support the firm. Manage financial reports, year-end closing, LP support, we all empty the trash and sweep the floor if that’s what’s needed.
- Help build our firm. Pipeline tooling, LP updates, and content. If something could work better, fix it.
Who you are
- Integrity is the cornerstone of our firm, your reputation and priorities reflect a commitment to honesty, sound judgment and doing the right thing.
- Curious about how businesses work, and energized by industries you don’t know yet.
- A clear writer who can turn messy facts into a recommendation.
- Comfortable with spreadsheets and financials. We’ll teach you the venture-specific parts.
- High-agency and at home in ambiguity.
- Someone founders enjoy talking to. You treat their time as precious.
- Up to 3 years in startups, banking, consulting, research, or anywhere you learned to think rigorously about businesses. No VC experience required.
- Fluent with AI tools but you still rely on your own judgment.
Nice to have
- You’ve founded something, joined a startup early, or shipped a side project. Failed startups OK.
- An existing network where you can add value and who will support your success.
- A technical or semi-technical background.
- A habit of writing, podcasting, or posting about tech.
What you’ll get
- An apprenticeship in seed investing from professionals who want to teach you the craft.
- A view of how a fund really runs: fund economics, LPs, and fundraising, along with the deals.
- A founder and investor network that will outlast the job.
- Room to grow with the firm: we are just starting the climb.
