Becoming a VC used to be as mysterious sounding as saying you wanted to be a Hollywood producer or something along those lines. That changed when John started writing about and sharing resources with the world. I can’t think of anyone who has helped more people unpack and understand the professional journey in VC more than he has.
As someone breaking into VC on their second career switch, Venture5 Media’s newsletters and online resources were immensely helpful to me.
Now, as a new investor, I continue to reference his site for anything from VC lingo to financial modeling.
Highly recommended!
Thank you so much for shedding light on my VC journey.
You’ll be happy to know a huge percent of my circle are big fans of your newsletters because they all texted me when they saw the video.
Incredible dinner. My fav tech week event. Thank you for hosting and having me! 🙏🏼
John and team were a pleasure to work with, they deeply understand the VC space and are a key part of the ecosystem and community.
I started reading John’s VC blog at a time when I was unsure what my next career step should be — I was contemplating leaving the VC space altogether and moving into something new. Although I did end up at a hedge fund and was less focused on the typical early-stage deals, I still found John’s content very insightful for keeping up with the space. It helped me keep a finger on the pulse of the VC world; everything from jobs to the latest investment trends.
What’s great about John’s blog is it’s not only a useful resource for those who want to break into VC, but also for those outside of the VC space, who want to keep up with early-stage investing.
Thought you did a great job of having really relevant, detailed, actionable content – definitely unique. There’s going to be some things we’ll be trying out based on what I learned this summer.
He sure did! Thanks Abhi for all the great content that your team curates for founders ✨
I got introduced to John Gannon’s website 7+ years ago. Ever since, I have been a huge follower and always advocated the content to anyone who is keen to learn more about or find opportunities within the ecosystem. I believe Venture5 Media is the Bible for all VCs to read and follow!
I just accepted an offer to do Technology Growth investing/late stage venture in NYC. I couldn’t have done it without your help!
Favorite part of #techweek last week was meeting amazing peers and mentors at the Moves in VC Dinner hosted by John Gannon celebrating rising stars in VC.
John Gannon’s VC Careers newsletter has been a huge help in both sharing our job openings and staff promotions.
It’s an easy submission process, and he’s very diligent in responding and curating quality information.
Have been a subscriber for ~3 years and love your newsletter. As an M&A advisor recently turned startup founder I am discovering a new appreciation for your content.
Wow, I think this email might change my life.
Thank you so much for sharing such knowledge!
John’s Blog is the first resource I recommend to both aspiring VCs and friends already working in the industry.
The newsletter is how I learned about an opening for my role at H/L Ventures.
3 years later at the firm and it’s still the first place I’d recommend looking for a VC gig.
As a founder, following John has given me over 30 different people or firms to reach out to.
Stay informed on industry shifts, deal trends, and career opportunities in venture capital.
