Nomi Capital New York City, NY

Nomi Capital

Nomi Capital was founded in 2024 to back the companies rebuilding America’s technological and industrial edge. We are a growth-stage firm investing across five strategic domains: autonomy and unmanned systems, AI and communications, manufacturing and supply chain, space technologies, and energy and power. Our portfolio includes Anduril, Armada, Castelion, Forterra, Saronic, and Shield AI, among others.

With over $100M under management, Nomi deploys capital through Nomi Defense Fund I and co-investment vehicles on behalf of a curated base of RIAs, single- and multi-family offices, and UHNW investors. We are now preparing to launch Nomi Defense Fund II to scale this strategy alongside the companies shaping the next generation of defense technology.

Based in New York, we are a small, founder-led team. We are building the firm the next generation of defense founders want on their cap table.

The Role

We are hiring our Principal, Capital Formation & Investor Relations to work side-by-side with the partners on all aspects of the firm’s capital formation strategy.

This is a partner-track role that will support the raise of Defense Fund II and build the long-term investor franchise of Nomi Capital.

Note: This is not an investment role initially. Sourcing and diligence sit with the investment team, with the opportunity to contribute to investment work as the firm scales.

What You’ll Own

Capital Formation

• Segment, target, and sequence the LP pipeline across RIAs, UHNW investors, single- and multi-family offices, and institutional allocators (endowments, foundations, fund-of-funds, and OCIOs).

• Run roadshows: own the calendar, coordinate LP meetings led by the partners, and drive conversion from first meeting to close. (Note: This role may require reasonable travel, especially during open fundraises)

• Own key elements of investor-facing communication, including: presentations, fund positioning, the data room, the DDQ, and targeted outbound content.

• Build a disciplined CRM and pipeline-reporting cadence so we always know where every dollar stands.

Co-Investment Placements

• Lead placement of co-investment opportunities for Fund I and Fund II portfolio companies into our RIA, family office, and UHNW investor base.

Investor Relations

• Run the IR operating rhythm: monthly LP letters, capital calls, and annual meeting.

• Serve as the single point of contact for LPs on anything that does not require the partners personally.

• Maintain the feedback loop from LPs back into firm strategy, positioning, and future fund design.

Who You Are

We are intentionally open on years of experience — we care more about the shape of your career than its length. That said, most people who fit this role will look something like the following:

• You have spent meaningful time in capital formation: at a fund-side IR or capital formation seat at an alternative investment firm, a placement agent, or in senior alternatives distribution at an RIA, wirehouse, or platform.

• You have real relationships you can activate across at least two of our target channels: RIA/UHNW, single- and multi-family offices, and institutional allocators.

• You have contributed materially to at least one institutional private market fundraise and know what it takes to move a fund from first LP conversation to final close.

• You have meaningful experience standing up or upgrading an IR operating system.

• You think in outcomes, not activity. You are comfortable writing down what you will deliver in three, nine, and 18 months and being held to it.

• You want to build, not administer. You are motivated by long-term economics, carry, and the chance to be part of a firm’s founding chapter.

Strong Pluses

• Existing relationships with defense-oriented, national-security, or dual-use LPs — defense-aligned family offices, former DoD/IC principals, strategic operators, or institutional pools with explicit defense mandates.

• Prior experience running an institutional fundraise process for a growth, crossover, or late-stage venture capital fund end-to-end, including consultant coverage.

• Experience helping scale an emerging-manager platform from first institutional fund through subsequent vintages.

Compensation & Ownership

This role is structured as a franchise-builder, not a platform hire, and compensation reflects that.

• Competitive base cash compensation calibrated to an emerging-manager economic structure.

• Meaningful variable cash compensation tied directly to fundraise milestones and co-investment placements.

• Substantial GP carry in Defense Fund II, with committed carry participation in successor funds for a partner-track trajectory.

This seat is built for someone optimizing for real ownership in a rapidly growing firm — carry, partner-track trajectory, and a meaningful stake in what we build together.
