Ventures Together
Investments Lead – Job Description
What is VT?
Ventures Together (VT) sits at the heart of the UK’s tech scene. We are an exclusive community of 250+ of Europe’s leading tech entrepreneurs and operators, who have quickly become one of the most active seed investors groups in Europe, and one of the most sought after – investing in 350+ startups to date.
Together we’ve invested alongside LocalGlobe, Index, Ribbit, Sequoia, Lakestar, Speedinvest, Earlybird, Connect, Episode1, LSVP, GV, Seedcamp and many, many more. We’re currently investing in ~2 new startups a week.
How we work
As founders ourselves, we know how painful it is to fundraise. We built VT to help the best founders get investment quickly and easily from many of the best operators in the ecosystem – without having to pitch to them separately. On the flip side, we’ve enabled operators to invest in amazing companies and build diversified portfolios with less time and capital.
The process is as quick and simple as a single angel working solo. We don’t set terms, or take board seats. Ultimately our aim is to be – pound for pound – the most valuable investors on a startup’s cap table at pre-seed or seed stage.
We source opportunities through our close connections to VCs, as well as through our community and are able to diligence them incredibly fast using this network. Our aim is to continually identify, win allocation and invest in the top companies raising each year.

The role
This is a unique opportunity to join a small team and growing community at the heart of the European seed investment scene. It’s ideal for someone who wants to significantly accelerate their learning, experience and network. You’ll get brilliant exposure to the UK/EU startup and key players in the VC ecosystem.
Each week, the VT team focuses on finding the absolute best tech investment opportunities at pre-seed and seed stage for our members. Because we ask for a small amount of allocation and offer huge value, we often manage to get into rounds that are heavily oversubscribed.
We’re a startup ourselves – consisting of a remote team of 6. This role is to lead our ‘deals’ team, meaning you will be responsible for sourcing, diligencing, getting allocation and presenting deals to the community. We want someone who loves startups, has a great network, and wants to fast-track their experience in seed-stage investing.
We work at a fast pace and handle multiple relationships and potential investment opportunities at any given point in time.
What will you be doing:
- Sourcing opportunities – it will be your responsibility to ensure we run 2 great opportunities each week from the hundreds we see. This means both surfacing the best from within our existing pipeline, as well as talking to our friends and connections at funds on a regular basis, getting a sense of what they’re close to investing in.
- Assess & present investment opportunities – you’ll be working in partnership with a Deal Flow Assistant, who will do a preliminary screening and passing good opportunities to you. You’ll be responsible for assessing and identifying the best deals, interacting with members to get their input, interacting with founders and writing deal memos.
- Share opportunities across our network – we work closely with an extended network of VCs, angels and partners to share opportunities. You’ll foster and nurture those connections, working collaboratively to source the best deals and support our founders, while developing your own network.
- Run deals with the VT community – you’ll negotiate with the founder for allocation and terms for VT, be the point person between the founder and our community for insights, questions and answers. You’ll need to present the opportunities to the community in an appealing way, and support the founders to successfully secure investment elsewhere.
- Networking and relationships – be our representative at community and startup events, building your network amongst founders and investors in the wider community.
- Above and beyond – as with any startup, you’ll focus on your core role, but will often be asked to take on additional projects across VT to help move us forward.
We’re looking for someone who
- Is a natural relationship builder. You love people, making connections, and you have the natural ability to hold your own regardless of whether you’re speaking to a VC partner, an early-stage founder, or a VT member who’s very successful.
-
- A great writer. You can quickly and convincingly write deal memos because you understand how potential investors think about companies, and what will be interesting to them.
- Has good attention to detail. You’re comfortable with lots of moving parts, and very thorough in your systems and processes for making sure nothing gets dropped.
- Works at pace. In the fast paced environment of early stage investments, we’re looking for someone who pushes themselves relentlessly and loves being able to triage tasks effectively.
- Is innately commercial. We want someone who loves to hunt for amazing opportunities. We want someone who likes to hustle and persuade. You should enjoy the challenge of working with and delivering on KPIs and targets and be able to deliver week-in, week-out.
- Is passionate about startups and tech. You read a lot, follow the market news and trends and are as excited as we are about tech leading the change in the world.
The right person
There are a few profiles we could see succeeding in this role.
- You’re working in VC already and fancy working somewhere smaller to get real responsibility – this role would fast-track someone to partner level here or elsewhere within a couple of years.
- You might be from the world of startups and absolutely love it. You’re a doer, a generalist (e.g. a COO, CRO or head of sales). You’re used to a fast paced working and taking responsibility, and know you could smash this role just like everything else you’ve done in your start-up life.
- You’re a founder who has had success and fundraised multiple times before.
- You’ve done a few years in consulting at a very-high paced level and want to get into tech and startups.
- You’ve worked in enterprise sales, and love the thrill of connecting with people, building relationships, hustling to build pipelines and finding great opportunities.
Must haves:
- UK time zone
- Ability to work remotely
- Understanding of fundraising (this could be from time spent in VC, from fundraising yourself, angel investing or similar)
What we can offer
- Salary of £60-80k, dependent on experience
- Carry in the startups we invest in
