The Investment Associate will work in conjunction with Advisors and Associates to manage and trade client portfolios, maintain investment models and trade-related data within the portfolio management system, support performance reporting, and conduct research for the firm’s Investment Committee. The role supports clients across the firm.

 

 

Responsibilities

The responsibilities listed below are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed; it is not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, and additional duties may be assigned.

 

  • Maintain high standards for serving both clients and advisors
  • Assign model portfolios, execute trades, and rebalance client portfolios using our portfolio management system, serving as a subject matter expert on the platform and ensuring an efficient and accurate rebalancing process.
  • Support the management of centralized portfolios by proactively recommending trades, monitoring accounts, and ensuring portfolios remain aligned with model allocations.
  • Produce and oversee the production of the client portal and performance reports
  • Reconcile, enter, download, and update data in rebalancing, account aggregation, and portfolio management software systems
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and best practices across all trading and portfolio management activities
  • Applies investment knowledge to analyze portfolios, contribute to investment research efforts, and draft watchlist notes
  • Serve as a back-up for other investment team workload (performance reporting, billing, account onboarding, etc.)

  • Client portfolios are in balance and properly assigned and managed to their model allocation
  • Provides accurate trade recommendations and is on the path to independently trading client accounts in accordance with client investment objectives
  • Ensure that the firm does not incur trade errors

 

 

Industry/Business Experience

Minimum 3 years in trading, portfolio management/operations, or a related investment operations role within the financial services industry.

 

 

Education

College degree in Finance, Investments, or Business, or comparable experience.

Requirements/Additional Information

  • Starting base salary range: $70,000-$100,000, with the opportunity to earn a discretionary annual bonus up to 10% of earnings.
  • Within 2-3 years, the Investment Associate will be encouraged to obtain an advanced investment designation and/or certification.
  • This individual will report to the Director of Investments.
  • The first 90 days will include an extensive onboarding/training program.
  • After the first 90 days and with the manager’s approval, the candidate may be eligible to work from home for a specified number of days per month.
